Two-Day Financial Education School

The Minister of State for Youth and Children, Ms. Bora Muzhaqi, along with the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Sejko, inaugurated the two-day financial education school with 60 high school students from Tirana, Durrës, and Elbasan.

Financial education is essential for every generation; therefore, the fantastic work done so far with the financial education curriculum in citizenship education by Junior Achievement and the Ministry of Education should be further advanced. It is important for our youth to learn all components of the financial world in digital and practical formats, adapting to their needs and desires.

During the weekend, these young people experienced 10 different teaching methodologies for financial education, having the opportunity to express their thoughts before we start piloting this program in schools. Co-developing programs with young people ensures that the programs we create for them are useful and welcomed with enthusiasm.

On the first day of the two-day financial education school, the youth:

  • Learned about the role of the Bank of Albania, money management, and the importance of financial planning for a sustainable future.
  • Participated in practical simulations from Junior Achievement of Albania on creating and managing businesses, developing entrepreneurial skills, and preparing for the job market.
  • Explored financial education through digital tools provided by ProCredit and Tirana Bank.

On the second day, the young participants actively engaged in each session through questions, ideas, and discussions, which will be reflected in the design of the new financial education program. Lecturers from Intesa San Paolo Bank, BKT, UBA Bank, Union Bank, and Credins Bank focused on practical solutions for personal finance management and the use of digital platforms, while the Bank of Albania emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in digital banking.

At the end of the event, the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Albania, Luljeta, and the Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Endrit, certified the participating youth.
