Launch of the Western Balkans Youth Situation Observatory

The Young Professionals Network (YPN), in partnership with the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), has officially launched the Western Balkans Youth Situation Observatory – the first regional initiative to comprehensively monitor youth policies across the Western Balkans. Supported by Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans, this instrument aims to provide a clear and evidence-based overview of the realities faced by young people in the region, through analysis of the Youth Guarantee, legal and strategic frameworks, the YPS Agenda, and key developments in education, employment, security, and EU approximation.

To mark the launch, a Fireside Talk was held in Tirana in cooperation with WBYL2, funded by the European Union under RCC. The discussion focused on the role of young people in shaping the Growth Plan and the Common Regional Market.

The National Youth Agency participated in the panel alongside representatives from RCC, the Delegation of the EU, the Embassy of Sweden, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, and RYCO, opening a direct dialogue with young people on policies that affect them.

The shared message was clear:
Young people are the driving force of regional growth, and the region moves forward when they lead.
