Open Call: Youth Digital Democracy Accelerator Programme

EYDR Erasmus+ Project is pleased to announce that Youth Digital Democracy Accelerator Programme is finally open for applications for youngsters from Albania and Montenegro.

Youth Digital Democracy Accelerator Programme is a 9-month capacity building and youth advocacy programme that stands at the core of the EYDR project which aims to equip 20 young people from Albania and Montenegro with practical skills to contribute to a more inclusive and safer online environment and to engage in digital/in person activism in a more meaningful way. The programme has been customized to the needs of youth as indicated in the Mapping of Youth Participation in Digital Rights in Albania and Montenegro, two reports prepared by SCiDEV and UZOR that explore through research the challenges of meaningful youth participation in the digital sphere.

The selected participants will have the opportunity to benefit from customized training and mentoring sessions with experts of cyber security, social media and digital activism, and also will have the opportunity to:

1. Join a mobility in Oviedo (Spain) or Belgrade (Serbia)

2. Prepare a policy paper in pair with other participants with the support of a mentor in the fields of cyber security policies, internet freedom of speech, digital activism, etc

3. Engage in designing a social media awareness campaign in collaboration with partner organizations.

By the end of this programme, the beneficiaries will improve their digital competences in the field of cyber security and social media tools, and strengthen their research skills.

To be eligible for this programme the participants should:

· Be between the ages of 18 and 30 at the time of application.

· Resident in Albania or Montenegro.

· Students and/or graduates from Law, Social Sciences, Journalism, IT and Multimedia are encouraged to apply.

· Ethnic minority members, LGBTI+, youth living in rural areas, unemployed and/or NEET youth (Not in Education, Employment or Training) are strongly encouraged to apply.

· Strong desire/motivation to explore the fields of digital rights, cybersecurity and e-democracy

· Applicants must be eager to actively participate in all programme activities, including Digital Democracy Workshop series, study visits, policy paper drafting and social media campaign design and implementation.

· Previous experience in digital tools, advocacy, or leadership roles is not mandatory, but could be considered a plus. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential.
