MSYC with the support of NYA, in cooperation with NYC, is organizing the Conference “Youth in Action.”

With 600 young people from all over Albania, we held the national conference “Youth in Action” to share the innovations of the new Law “On Youth,” which guarantees real participation of young people at decision-making tables and financial support to advance their ideas and initiatives.

In the panel “The Law on Youth and Volunteering – What Changes for Young People?”, together with Geron, Iris, Ira, and Jasemina, we discussed the innovations of the Law “On Youth,” which guarantees real inclusion and financial support for the ideas and initiatives of young people.

We also shared the ongoing work to improve the Law “On Volunteering,” which aims to make civic engagement easier, more accessible, and more meaningful for all young people.

The panel "Unification of the Youth Voice – Collaboration between Local Government, Youth Centers (KVR), Youth Centers of the Regions (KKR), and Student Councils" brought together local government leaders, young professionals, and members of the KKR and KVR.

Andisi, Enkelejda, Kamila, Klajdi, Odeta, Brusi, and Elsa discussed strengthening the cooperation between local government and youth structures, the decision-making role of young people, and the financial support for Community Initiatives proposed by informal youth groups – now guaranteed thanks to changes in the "Law on Youth."

In the panel “The Transition from School to Work: Youth Guarantee, Career Counseling, and Their Challenges and Perspectives,” high-level leaders and representatives of institutions engaged in direct dialogue with the youth of the National Youth Council and Local Youth Councils, who were active participants in every panel.

The young participants brought forward ideas and proposed concrete solutions, sharing their perspectives on the opportunities available for the new generation—from education and career counseling to skills development and employment—through programs that the Albanian Government makes available for youth.

The “Youth in Action” conference continued with three dynamic workshops, where young members of the Local Youth Councils presented ideas and concrete proposals focused on strengthening cooperation and enhancing the role of youth structures in easing the transition from school to work, as well as developing a joint action plan between the Local Youth Councils and Student Councils.

The most promising proposals, evaluated by the youth themselves in the room, will be taken forward to continue in roundtables co-led with young people.

With the energy, ideas, and voices of 600 young people from across Albania, we concluded a conference that was not just an event—but a testament to the power of youth when they speak, propose, and take action.

All the panels of this conference were designed with young people at the center – as voices, ideas, and leaders. Because youth is not just about participation, it’s about action. This is the moment – where the voice of young people is not only heard but also becomes part of the decision-making process.
