Albania launches the second phase of the regional project "Youth for Inclusion, Equality, and Trust", with a $4.75 million support fund for young people in the Western Balkans.
The Minister of State for Youth and Children, Ms. Bora Muzhaqi, together with the UN Coordinator in Albania, Ms. Fiona McCluney, led an important meeting within the framework of the "Youth for Inclusion, Equality, and Trust" project. In its first phase, the project has engaged over 14,000 young people, focusing on their empowerment, social inclusion, trust-building, and intercultural dialogue.
In collaboration with UN agencies: UNDP, UNFPA, UN Women, and UNESCO, the second phase aims to:
- Increase the social inclusion of young people, especially those from marginalized groups.
- Support gender equality, with 39% of the funding dedicated to the empowerment of women and girls.
- Encourage intercultural dialogue and create spaces for collaboration among young people.
- Involve central and local government, civil society, media, and academia in this process.
Another important step towards a more empowered youth and a more equal society.
